Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic health condition that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body. It causes musculoskeletal pain and fatigue. Fibromyalgia is often accompanied by sleep disturbances, memory issues, and mood swings. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, but it is believed to involve a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors.

 

Symptoms: The symptoms of fibromyalgia can vary widely among individuals but commonly include:

 

 1-  Pain is the hallmark symptom of fibromyalgia. Pain can occur in muscles, joints, and throughout the body. The pain can range from a mild achiness to an intense and almost unbearable discomfort.

 

2-  People with fibromyalgia often wake up tired, even though they are sleeping for long periods. Sleep is frequently disrupted by pain.

 

3- The patient experiences stiffness, especially in the morning.

 

4- Cognitive difficulties often called fibrofog, these symptoms include difficulties on focus, attention, and concentration on mental tasks. Many individuals with fibromyalgia experience mental health issues.

 

Other symptoms that may associated with fibromyalgia are headache and migraine, digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, increased sensitivity to temperature, light and noise, numbness, and tingling on hands and feet.

 

Treatment for fibromyalgia aims to ease your symptoms and improve your quality of life this includes medications and exercises. Exercises aim to improve the range of motion and strengthen the muscles. This can also help in reducing Fibromyalgia pain. It is an effective way to combat tiredness and improve your energy levels. It also improves sleep and reduces depression.
